Player's Codex — read before you play

Soul Society didn't survive Yhwach
to fall to something older.

A quick briefing on the Kegare of Naraka, the invasion, and who you might run into out there — so you're never lost when a name gets dropped mid-fight.

01 — Where things stand

The war just ended. This one didn't wait.

The Soul King is dead — a casualty of the war against Yhwach — and the balance he personally held between the human world, Soul Society, and Hueco Mundo died with him. In the instability that followed, a crack tore open into Naraka, a hell-realm older and darker than anything the Seireitei has ever fought.

Its ruler, King Abaddon, wants exactly what every ruler of the dead has always wanted: territory, and every soul that would otherwise pass through Soul Society. His army is already inside the walls. Every division is mobilized. It still isn't enough.

02 — Know what you're fighting

The Kegare chain of command

Every Kegare, from the bottom of this ladder to the top, can feed on reiryoku and souls through direct contact — they get stronger the longer a fight drags on. Keep that in mind before you settle in for a long duel.

AshbornRank-and-file. Thousands of them are inside the walls right now.

03 — The one behind all of it

King Abaddon

Rarely seen. Never wrong.

Genesis Ruin

Ancient beyond any known reckoning. His power doesn't kill a soul — it erases it from the cycle of reincarnation entirely, a death beyond even a Getsuga Tensho or a Cero Oscuras. He also holds partial dominion over the breach between realms itself, able to reshape or seal parts of the crack at will. Where Yhwach's Almighty was a power over time and probability, Abaddon's is a power over existence and boundary itself.

He speaks rarely, moves even more rarely, and treats the entire invasion as a formality — a conclusion he reached a long time ago that the rest of the world is only now catching up to.

04 — Ten names, and only ten

The Wrathborn

If something claims to be a Wrathborn and isn't on this list, it's lying, mistaken, or something else entirely dressed up in the title. There are exactly ten. Tap a name to open their full profile.

Malachi"the Unbending"
Wards & duels+

Absolute Ward — nullifies any single incoming attack equal to or weaker than his own current reiatsu output. Fights against him are wars of attrition to force an opening.

Look

Tall, gaunt, ash-grey skin, close-cropped white hair, dull steel eyes. Black plate armor notched for every duel he's ever fought.

Who he is

A mortal knight once, from a kingdom that no longer exists. Earned his place among the Ten in formal single combat, not by cruelty. Cold, correct, respects strength wherever he finds it — dangerously easy to underestimate as "the reasonable one."

Seraphine"the Songstress of Ruin"
Sound+

Dirge — a note held long enough can shatter a soul's chain of fate directly. No blade required.

Look

Delicate frame, faintly glowing throat markings, trailing dark robes cut like a performer's gown, smoke-like hair.

Who she is

A rare native of Naraka, born there rather than fallen into it. Theatrical — treats every kill as a composition she's improvising live. Genuinely charming to talk to, which makes her worse.

Grael"the Devourer"
Feeding+

An extreme, amplified version of the shared Kegare feeding trait — can consume a captain's entire reiatsu reserve in a single bite, growing larger with every soul taken.

Look

Hulking even in his "sealed" guise, skin stretched too tight, jaw too wide to fully close.

Who he is

A former Ashborn who fed far past what his rank allowed until nobody could deny him elite status. Feral, near-mute, kept on a short leash by the others until Abaddon wants a front cleared fast and ugly.

Ophira"the Cartographer of the Abyss"
Space+

Folds distance, opens short-range gates for allies, or strands an enemy in a pocket of collapsed space with no exit.

Look

Slight, plainly dressed, no visible weapon. Her eyes tend to focus on distances that aren't actually in the room.

Who she is

Mapped Naraka's own shifting geography long before the invasion. Found the crack into Soul Society before anyone else. Quiet, exact — she's the one actually running the invasion's logistics.

Dravok"the Forgefather"
Constructs+

Raises and animates constructs of hardened abyssal matter — sometimes from the remains of the fallen — into armored golems that fight beside him.

Look

Heavyset, scarred forearms, a leather apron over his armor. Usually carries tools rather than a conventional weapon.

Who he is

Naraka's foremost craftsman, elevated to the Ten to arm and reinforce the army rather than for personal combat skill. Gruff, quietly proud of his work.

Nyxara"the Widow of Chains"
Soul chains+

Perceives and manipulates a Shinigami's soul chain (Saketsu/Hakusui) directly — sever it, bind an opponent with it, or puppet one still attached.

Look

Unsettlingly beautiful, draped in fine chains that aren't decorative — each one a severed soul-chain kept as a trophy.

Who she is

Rose through Naraka's court by outliving every rival, one way or another. Seductive, patient — prefers unraveling someone psychologically before she ever touches their chain. The cruelest of the Ten by a wide margin.

Baelor"the Unmourned"
Death-cheat+

When killed, his soul reforms elsewhere on the battlefield after a short delay, memory intact.

Look

Scarred everywhere, minimal armor "because it doesn't matter anyway," an ever-present manic grin, one discolored eye.

Who he is

Cursed by Abaddon after a failed assassination attempt — punishment or gift, depending who tells it. Reckless past the point of sense, laughs through real wounds, always first into a suicidal charge.

Isolde"the Silent Verdict"
Silence+

Projects a field of absolute silence that also blocks zanpakuto release commands inside its radius — no shikai, no bankai, while you're inside it.

Look

Severe, unornamented, plain grey robes, an expression that almost never changes.

Who she is

Naraka's own executioner long before the invasion began. Taciturn, judge-like — the quietest of the Ten, and arguably the most frightening for exactly that reason.

Corvun"the Wingless"
Flight+

Manifests real, black, membranous wings and dominates the air. Can briefly phase through solid matter to close distance impossibly fast.

Look

Tall, sharp-featured, wears his wings proudly even folded, dressed with deliberate, almost aristocratic care.

Who he is

His title is an old joke turned permanent — born without wings, unusual for his lineage, and grew them himself through sheer will. Arrogant, openly contemptuous of anyone fighting with their feet on the ground.

Thessaly"the Herald"
Precognition+

Precognitive senses bonded directly to Abaddon, through whom she can channel a fraction of his power temporarily.

Look

Youngest-looking of the Ten, small stature, faint glowing sigils across her skin that pulse in time with Abaddon's will.

Who she is

Found by Abaddon as what passes for a child in Naraka, raised to be his conduit. Fanatically devoted, unnervingly calm and childlike given how lethal she is.
